Classroom Expectations
1. Be Ready. Bring your supplies with you every day (a complete list of supplies is listed below).
2. Be respectful. All students are expected to show respect to everyone and everything in the classroom.
3. Be responsible. Manage your time so that you can keep up with homework and class assignments.
Classroom Procedures
1. Come to class prepared. Bring any/all assignments and your planner every day. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom after the tardy bell. Exceptions will be made on an emergency basis only. Students given permission to be in the hall during class MUST have the hall pass in your planner signed by the teacher. Therefore, you should carry your planner to every class. You cannot be in the hall without your signed planner unless escorted by a teacher or administrator.
2. Immediately report to your assigned seat. Students will be considered tardy if they are not in their seats beginning the work on the board when the tardy bell rings. (See student handbook in your planner for consequences for tardies.)
3. Get out your materials and fill out your planner with the day’s objective.
4. Get to work on the Bell Work and Class Assignments.
5. Engage in lectures, class discussions and projects
6. Remain focused and on task until the class is dismissed.
*You are expected to begin these procedures as soon as you walk into the classroom. Do not wait on the bell or the teacher to begin.*
Consequences for Inappropriate Behavior
The guidelines in the student handbook will be followed for inappropriate behavior choices. If a student chooses to behave in a manner hindering the learning process, the following steps may occur:
1. Teacher and student will discuss the behavior issue
2. Teacher will discuss the behavior issue with parents / guardians
3. A disciplinary referral will be issued according to student handbook guidelines
Consequences may vary according to the severity and/or frequency of the offense as determined by the teacher.
